Resumo(s)
The purpose of this Work Project was to develop the Employee Policy Manual for the
Canadian company Jones DesLauriers Insurance Management Inc. (JDIMI), in the context
of an internship. I was assigned to do this project under the supervision of the HR
Generalist. To create the handbook, I had to not only research and understand company
policies and procedures, but also corporate culture and major strategic goals. I also used theoretical frameworks, such as contingency theory and human capital theory, to support my propositions. The Employee Policy Manual is provided in the Appendix on a CD, since it is quite an extensive and comprehensive document. In the main text of the Work Project, a literature review and a brief description of the main components of the Employee Policy Manual are provided.
