The following paper documents the process of defining a strategic plan for an NGO looking to engage in commercial ventures. Specifically, it covers the validation of rationale, the evaluation of the budget requirements, the characterization of the company in terms of assets and competencies, the assessment of demand for deliverable commercial services, the comparison of two different ways to structure the vehicle, the valuation of each service separately, and finally the valuation of the hypothetical new company that holds these new services.
