No início do século
This project was inspired by the recognition of the secondary role played by women throughout history, which limited their literary aspirations and promoted their distancing from the literary canon. During the early 20th century, Ana de Castro Osório was one of the most important names associated with the struggle for the emancipation of women, a person who, aside from her social and political intervention, developed a wide editorial and literary activity. Therefore, we present a critical edition of her novel Ambições, first published in 1903 and with a second edition in 1934, which contains important corrections from the author, not only regarding the alteration of stylistic aspects or the correction of inconsistencies, but also the adaption of the text to the historical and social context of the time.
