This project aims to propose workshops of autobiographical writing for Brazilian women immigrants in Portugal as a way of opening space for the recreation of their identities and resistance against the stereotype of the "Brazilian Woman" in Portugal. Biographically reviewing the theme of Brazilian female immigration in Portugal, there is a great theoretical concern to understanding the roots of this stereotype, as well as its consequences in the experiences of these women. These studies give us the basis to understand the scenario of immigration of Brazilian women to Portugal, situating such perception through social, historical, cultural, intersectionalising gender, class and race. Based on current studies on Brazilian immigration in Portugal and studies on autobiographical writing and subalternity, the present project intends to promote spaces of autobiographical literary creation for Brazilian women in one of the most consolidated immigrant associations in the country, the Casa do Brasil de Lisboa, offering the possibility for some of these women to express themselves by writing their life stories and experiences in Portugal. The ultimate goal of the project is for such women to be empowered and to create new forms of resistance to the stereotypes by strengthening their own voices. The results of the autobiographical workshops will be collected with the authorization of the authors for a later publication with critical review.
