O século XX foi repleto de horrores. Um século de mortandade e decrepitude, com efeitos nefastos e perenes no entendimento do mundo, do Homem, da Arte e, sobretudo, da espiritualidade. O Holocausto viera implementar uma epistemologia refractária, à qual a Literatura não pôde ficar indiferente. É daí que parte todo o presente estudo da obra destes poetas – o primeiro neste registo – à luz das novas tendências espirituais e das matrizes existencialistas filosóficas. Com base nisto, delinear-se-á toda a peregrinação estética destes poetas, passando não só pela recuperação do fascínio romântico pelo Oriente, como também por novas formas de pensar a Arte Sacra, com denominador comum na reinterpretação da alteridade profetizada por Rimbaud, com epicentro, agora, na palavra poética e na transcendência.
The twentieth century was one of horrors. A century of massacre and decay which had nefarious and perpetual effects on our understanding of the world, Mankind, Art and, above all, our understanding of spirituality. The Holocaust gave place to a fragmented epistemology to which literature cannot be indifferent. This perspective is the wellspring of the present study which – for the first time – looks at the work of these poets within the logic of the new spiritual tendencies, French existentialism and philosophy. Having this as the foundation, the aesthetic pilgrimage of these poets will be drawn, encompassing not only the rebirth of the fascination with the East, but also the new ways of thinking sacred art. The shared ground will be the reinterpretation of alterity announced by Rimbaud, but now by the greatness of the poetic word and by transcendence.
