no respetivo Código.
This investigation has the aim of analyzing the efficiency of disciplinary action applied to violations committed by journalists and media against the Deontological Code. In order to do this, it is necessary to deepen the ethical principles inherent to journalism practice, as well as deontological rules present in the corresponding Code. By way of biographical research supported by interviews of important personalities of portuguese journalism, we sought to determine which bodies, in Portugal, are responsible for its application and the reason for their lack of action in the last years. We conclude for a hopefull future where Ethics and Deontology present themselves as pilars for responsible communication and the foundations for a self‐regulation of the media fiting the 21st century.
