Com a presente dissertação espera-se fundamentar a importância do ensino de
expressões idiomáticas, no contexto do Português Língua Estrangeira.
A primeira parte do nosso estudo consiste num breve enquadramento teórico
em torno das expressões idiomáticas, seguido de uma reflexão sobre as abordagens ao
ensino de expressões idiomáticas em PLE.
Tendo em consideração o ensino do português língua estrangeira para fins
específicos, destacamos que a aprendizagem das expressões idiomáticas constitui um
dos maiores desafios para o domínio proficiente de uma língua, nomeadamente para
um público-alvo específico: os intérpretes de conferência.
A última parte da dissertação consiste numa proposta de selecção, organização
e interpretação de expressões idiomáticas portuguesas e italianas, subordinadas à
temática cultural da água.
Consideramos que a valorização do ensino das expressões idiomáticas, no
contexto do português língua estrangeira, privilegia o desenvolvimento de
competências multiculturais, prevista no Quadro Europeu Comum de Referência para
as Línguas.
This dissertation addresses the importance of teaching idiomatic expressions, in the context of Portuguese as a Foreign Language. The first part of this study consists of a summarized theoretical framework of idioms, followed by a reflection on the approaches of teaching Portuguese idioms in a foreign language context. Considering teaching Portuguese for specific purposes, we emphasise the challenges of learning idiomatic expressions, as one of the main focus of the following targeted language students: conference interpreters. In the last part of this study, we propose a selection, organization and interpretation of Portuguese and Italian idioms, regarding the cultural subject of water. As mentioned in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, we consider that a good command of idiomatic expressions allows the learner of Portuguese as a Foreign Language to develop multicultural competences.
