Resumo(s)
This thesis investigates the impact of regulatory changes in Brazil's Trade Repository (TR)
market, particularly focusing on the implications of enforced interoperability and transparency
on market prices and competition dynamics. Utilizing a modified version of Laffont et al.’s
(1998) model, the study reveals that regulatory interventions has the potential to significantly
reduce both intra-network and inter-network prices, enhancing competition and efficiency
within the TR industry. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the regulatory
dynamics in network industries and offer insights for designing policies that foster competition
and reduce costs in similar market settings.
