This work gathers a series of documents that allowed to trace the history of Quinta da Fidalga, a country house located in Arrentela, Seixal, belonging to the Gama Lobo Salema family. Furthermore, the aim is to analyse the importance of country houses in the context of the Tagus South Bank and to substantiate the contribution of this architectural typology to the affirmation of nobility, focusing on the Portuguese specificity of its spatial construction articulated as a functional whole. Multidisciplinary analyses are also made of the various elements that make up the Quinta da Fidalga, taking into account its practical and recreational functions, which are articulated with the message that the commissioner(s) wanted to convey to visitors of a space that is both reflective and symbolic. Given its originality within the context of the Tagus River estuary, there is a greater focus on the farm's hydraulic system, privileging its emblematic tidal lake.
