This internship report refers to the practice of mixing and producing African music. The internship was carried out in the recording studios of the publishing house Klasszik, located in the municipality of Sintra, during the academic year 2020/2021, in the context of the Master's Degree in Musical Arts, at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences (FCSH) of Universidade Nova de Lisboa under the scientific guidance of professor Rui Pereira Jorge and, in the internship place of the Project Coordinator and member of the framework. Klasszik employee Cindy Peixoto. This report describes the experiences I had in the studios, having as main function developed assistance in mixing and producing African music. The choice of theme is based on a personal intention to expand my knowledge and develop my skills as a musician, producer and percussionist, in order to have a practical and detailed notion of the stages of work related to mixing and production. On the other hand, as it is an educational and optional measure for obtaining a Master's degree in Musical Arts, this possibility of internship becomes more viable to be in direct contact with the studio environment, putting into practice the contents taught. in college classrooms. In this sense, in addition to witnessing the work being carried out in person, I will have the opportunity to participate in the realization of the same, handling musical instruments, studio equipment and software, capturing and mixing voices and instruments, working with the various effects existing on the mixing desks. and in the audio capture programs, as well as the creation of the most outstanding rhythms of African music.
