Construção de valores de interculturalidade através do Inglês (LE) no 1º Ciclo do Ensino Básico

Abstract

Este relatório, desenvolvido no âmbito da Unidade Curricular de Prática de Ensino Supervisionada do Mestrado em Ensino de Inglês no 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, tem como objetivo principal refletir sobre a oportunidade de promover a construção de valores de interculturalidade no processo de ensino da Língua Inglesa como LE. O primeiro capítulo apresenta o enquadramento teórico no âmbito da educação para a cidadania intercultural no 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, nomeadamente no contexto do ensino do Inglês LE. Neste sentido, abordam-se algumas das questões com efeito pedagógico importante na aprendizagem de valores de interculturalidade. O segundo capítulo justifica a atualidade e relevância do presente estudo e apresenta uma descrição do posicionamento metodológico adotado para o desenvolvimento do trabalho: o potencial e os limites dos conteúdos didáticos relativos à exploração dos conceitos de valores de interculturalidade implementados neste momento no contexto nacional; determinação da nossa proposta e a metodologia de investigação empírica. O terceiro capítulo propõe uma etapa do estudo empírico de curta duração baseado na observação sobre a aplicação das unidades didáticas relacionadas com a construção de valores de interculturalidade nos ambientes escolares, a sua funcionalidade e os resultados obtidos.

This report was developed within the scope of the curricular unit of supervised teaching internship of the MA in English Teaching in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education. It aims to reflect on the opportunity to promote the construction of intercultural values in the process of teaching English as a Foreign Language. The first chapter presents the theoretical framework within the scope of education for intercultural citizenship in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education, namely in the context of teaching English as a foreign language. Therefore, the present report touches upon some of the issues relating to the importance of pedagogical effect of the learning of intercultural values. The second chapter justifies the timeliness and relevance of the present study. It also presents a description of the methodological position adopted for the development of the present report. This includes examining the potential as well as the limits of didactic content as related to the exploration of the concepts of intercultural values implemented in the current national context, determination of our proposal, and the empirical investigation methodology. The third chapter proposes a stage of the short-term empirical study based on the observation of the application of didactic units related to the construction of intercultural values in school environments, their functionality and the results obtained.
