Since digital has assumed a key role in the expansion of television discourse, it is important to understand the relevance of the online department of a given program. Social networks, with their various tools for communication and interaction, became extremely popular around the world and have become part of people's routine, becoming powerful agents of social communication. This internship report proposes to combine the experience of a 3 months’ internship in the production department of Alô Portugal, with a reflection on the influence of the digital era in television programs, having as a case study the talk-show Alô Portugal from SIC Internacional. Therefore, from a reflection on television shows and the changes that emerged with the transformation to the digital era, it is aimed to analyze and problematize the importance of relating the new media to television. For this result, the main focus of the object of study is to understand the strategies of producing television in the digital age, understand the impact of new media on viewers, understand the fears of producing a morning show in the digital age, and understand the impact of interactivity on digital television. To answer these objectives, an integrated content analysis was conducted, with interviews with five communication professionals. The analysis sought to answer the following starting question: "What is the importance of the new social network media for SIC television programs?" and through the results of this research, it was possible to conclude that all interviewees have a convergent opinion in relation to digital. Hence, it is assumed that social networks are an elementary point for the growth of a television program.
