Com base na obra de António Lobo Antunes, a presente dissertação visa a conceptualização do romance enquanto unidade fragmentária e relativa segundo três casos de estudo em particular, nomeadamente, Ontem Não Te Vi Em Babilónia (2006), O Meu Nome É Legião (2007) e O Arquipélago da Insónia (2008).
Trata-se, portanto, da análise dos diversos elementos que constituem a construção romanesca antuniana e, mesmo na diferença, compreendem um âmbito corporal comum, isto é, uma estrutura. Na ausência, note-se, de um significado transcendental, uma Verdade que se circunscreva centro absoluto, operando neste caso enquanto estruturalidade descentrada com a devida remissão, desde logo, para a crítica pós-estruturalista de Jacques Derrida.
Legitimando, em última instância, o exercício de dissociação de potenciais coordenadas do romanesco antuniano, ou por outra, a identificação das nuances estruturais que, na relatividade, significam a sua conformidade com a obra aberta de Umberto Eco. Um romance, assim, disperso na amplitude de possibilidades que a sua abertura abrange conservando, no entanto, a coesão corporal, o encadeamento operativo e, sobretudo, a sua configuração unitária.
Based on the work of António Lobo Antunes, this thesis aims to conceive the novel as a fragmentary and relative conceptual unity according to three case studies, in particular, Ontem Não Te Vi Em Babilónia (2006), O Meu Nome É Legião (2007) e O Arquipélago da Insónia (2008). Therefore, it consists on the analysis of the numerous elements that shape the antunian novelistic construction and, within their difference, establish a common body framework, i.e. a structure. In the absence, note, of a transcendental meaning, a Truth that restrains an absolute center, operating much more as a decentered structurality in line with the poststructuralist perspective of Jacques Derrida. Allowing, ultimately, the dissection exercise of potential coordinates of the antunian novel or, in other words, the inspection of structural nuances that, in relativity, resemble the open work of Umberto Eco. A novel thus dispersed in the range of possibilities that its openness covers preserving, however, its body cohesion, its operational connection and, above all, its unitary configuration
