O direito de autor tem um papel fundamental no trabalho das tradutoras e tradutores que atuam na área da tradução audiovisual. Trata-se de um conceito que influencia o reconhecimento destes profissionais enquanto autores, bem como o seu rendimento e os direitos que possuem ou não sobre as suas traduções. Contudo, existe uma lacuna na formação sobre este conceito na área da tradução, sobretudo no contexto português. A investigação dedicada a este tema é também escassa. Esta lacuna é problemática uma vez que a formação é essencial para colmatar a falta de literacia que existe entre profissionais e garantir o reconhecimento dos direitos das tradutoras e tradutores audiovisuais. Este relatório apresenta o trabalho de projeto que consistiu na criação de um curso online à base de vídeos pré-gravados sobre práticas de direito de autor na tradução audiovisual com o intuito de começar a colmatar a lacuna acima mencionada. O curso destina-se sobretudo a profissionais de tradução audiovisual, quer tenham começado a exercer a sua atividade recentemente ou já a exerçam há vários anos, a tempo inteiro ou parcial. Em primeiro lugar, são introduzidos e interligados os conceitos principais de que o presente trabalho tira partido: tradução audiovisual, direito de autor e ensino online. De seguida, discutem-se os parâmetros metodológicos utilizados no desenvolvimento do projeto e analisa-se o resultado final do curso bem como os temas que o compõem. Por fim, esboçam-se as limitações do projeto e possíveis futuros passos.
Authors’ rights play a key role in the work of translators who specialize in audiovisual translation. The notion impacts translators’ recognition as authors as well as their income and the rights they hold over translated works. However, there is a shortage of translator training on authors’ rights, and Portugal is no exception. This shortage is problematic since training is essential to improve literacy amongst professionals, so as to ensure that audiovisual translators’ rights are recognized and respected. To address this gap, this project created an online course made of prerecorded videos about authors’ rights practices in audiovisual translation. The course is targeted mainly at audiovisual translators, regardless of their experience or level of specialization. This report provides a detailed overview of the project. It first introduces the concepts of audiovisual translation, authors’ rights and online learning, explaining how they are connected. The report then describes the methodology used to create the course and provides an overview analysis of its components and relevant topics. To conclude, the report outlines the project’s limitations and next steps.
