The use of energy is essential to support practically all human activities of daily life. The global demand for energy has been increasing over the years and this trend tends to continue. The domestic sector is considered to be one of the most energy consuming sectors. In this context, it is necessary to analyze consumption in houses and invest in energy efficiency measures that provide consumers with reducing costs in water, electricity and gas and minimizing the environmental impacts of their ecological footprint. This dissertation aims to identify which are the main habits of energy consumers in their houses, in order to be able to gauge the best solution to improve their energy efficiency. For this purpose, questionnaires were carried out to residents of the condominium of Colina de São Gonçalo, Malha 22, in Alta de Lisboa, allowing to obtain a view of the current panorama of energy consumption in the buildings of the condominium and to understand the perception of this theme and what efficient measures are taken or willing to adopt. The residents' perception and interest in the energy efficiency of the condominium allowed to conclude that the concept of renewable energy community, through collective self-consumption of energy, is the performance of condominium management that most want to see implemented. The applicability of the legislation in force with regard to selfconsumption of renewable energy, pleases most residents, especially to reduce the costs of the energy bill. The results of the questionnaires made it possible to verify that consumers' saving habits are more constant in actions related to energy, as they perceive that the greatest consumption is associated with lighting, the production of domestic hot water and the use of household appliances.
