As principais ideias
This dissertation constitutes a reflection upon the conception of justice as it is developed in the work of John Rawls. The goal is to determine to what extent can this conception be universally applied, and not only regionally, in a good manner, equitatively and free for everyone. If we look at the history of civilizations, as well as to our contemporary age, it is possible to identify cases of injustice a little bit everywhere, either at a state or institutional level or in social coexistence in the different communities of individuals, without being necessary a deep investigation on the matter. The main ideas contained in the chief work of Rawls, A Theory of Justice, published in 1971, can be the key needed to close a door which has been opened for a very long time, namely that of injustice or unfairness. With this dissertation, it is expected to apprehend the main contributions of Rawls’ innovative theory of justice in the hope that these may be applied to concrete cases in our societies.
