Este relatório visa responder à premissa de que um tradutor, além de ser um mediador de
línguas e culturas, é um mediador de comunicação política na área das Relações
Internacionais.
Foram analisados os títulos e temas gerais de 31 traduções levadas a cabo durante o
estágio. Essa análise permitiu ter a perceção da tipologia dos assuntos políticos traduzidos
no jornal PÚBLICO durante os três meses de estágio.
Concluiu-se que o tradutor jornalístico trabalha com assuntos de vários tipos de política.
O trabalho de um tradutor jornalístico permite-lhe mediar a informação recebida além de
lhe possibilitar informar, alterar perceções, opiniões e perspetivas do público de chegada
sobre assuntos internos e internacionais, que vão provocar tomadas de posição da
sociedade alusivas à cooperação e convivência entre Estados
This report aims to argue that a journalistic translator, not only is a mediator of languages and cultures, but also a mediator of political communication in the field of International Relations. The titles and general themes of 31 translations carried out during the internship were analyzed to understand what type of political issues are translated at the newspaper PÚBLICO. It was concluded that the journalistic translator works with subjects of different types of politics. The work of a journalistic translator beyond solely the mediation of information information received by a ST to a TT, as it enables the translator to inform and change perceptions, opinions and perspectives of the target public on internal and international subjects, which will allow the societies to take a position in cooperation and coexistence between states. Communication and international politics have a major impact on how societies correlate. The information that circulates between countries around the world is given by the journalists and jornalistic translators as well.
