O presente trabalho procura responder à problemática “em que medida, os professores de português língua estrangeira são condicionados pela cultura portuguesa no contexto asiático”.
Considerando-se esta problemática, foram definidos objetivos específicos que procuram responder à questão de investigação, nomeadamente identificar a presença da Língua Portuguesa em espaço asiático; descrever o ensino da Língua Portuguesa em contexto asiático; resumir as diferenças culturais gerais entre asiáticos europeus; compreender a forma de uso da linguagem entre asiáticos e europeus; avaliar o impacto da língua e cultura nos docentes de Português Língua Estrangeira, que residem em espaço asiático; e, por fim, examinar a relação entre o docente de Português Língua Estrangeira e o universo académico em que foi inserido.
Assim, o estudo empírico assenta essencialmente na utilização da técnica de inquerido por questionário, a um universo de 33 docentes que residiram e residem em espaço asiático, revelando que nem “tudo o que parece é”, demonstrando que, através do uso de metodologias diversificadas é possível ir lecionar para países asiáticos e regressar mais paciente, mais tolerante e mais aberto à mudança.
The present work tries to answer to the problematic "to which extent, the teachers of Portuguese as a foreign language are conditioned by their culture when teaching Portuguese in the Asian context". Considering this problematic, specific objectives have been defined that seek to answer the research question, namely to identify the presence of the Portuguese language in Asian space; to describe the teaching of the Portuguese language in an Asian context; to summarize the general cultural differences between European Asians; understand the way language is used between Asian and European; to evaluate the impact of language and culture on Portuguese Language Teachers residing in Asian space; and, finally, to examine the relation between the teacher of Portuguese Foreign Language and the academic universe in which it was inserted. Thus, the empirical study is based essentially on the use of the questionnaire technique, to a universe of 33 teachers residing and reside in Asian space, revealing that neither "everything it seems is", demonstrating that, through the use of diversified methodologies it is possible to go to Asian countries and return more patient, more tolerant and more open to change.
