A presente proposta constitui o trabalho final do Curso de Mestrado em Ciências da Linguagem, área de especialização em Consultoria e Revisão Linguística, na modalidade de projeto. O estudo realizado integra-se na temática dos livros de estilo, em particular na constituição de uma proposta de livro de estilo para o Jornal de Angola. Escolheu-se como corpus deste projeto o Jornal de Angola, por ser o órgão angolano mais antigo e com maior abrangência a nível territorial, sendo o único que é distribuído diariamente pelas 18 províncias de Angola. O trabalho encontra-se estruturado em quatro capítulos.
O primeiro é focado numa reflexão bibliográfica sobre os Livros de Estilo e apresenta a descrição de três livros de estilos, nomeadamente: o livro de estilo do Jornal Português “Público”, o livro de estilo da agência Lusa e o livro de estilo do Jornal Estado de São Paulo. No segundo capítulo fez-se a presentação, descrição e modo de funcionamento do Jornal de Angola, seguido pelo código de ética e deontologia dos jornalistas angolanos, bem como a descrição, dos 18 textos extraídos de edições dos anos 1992, 2002 e 2018, nas secções de política, sociedade, desporto, gente que constituem o corpus deste trabalho.
No terceiro Capítulo procuramos fazer uma análise e caraterização dos dados recolhidos, trabalhando sobre os títulos, leads e corpo de texto, na base dos conceitos de frases, simples, frases complexas e verbos. Já no quarto e último capítulo descrevemo-lo como mais técnico porque é aí onde incide a nossa proposta de livro de estilo, com algumas normas para construção de notícia e organização textual; géneros de textos

jornalísticos; normalização linguística com destaque para os verbos, advérbios e para a estrutura das frases, passando pela acentuação, pontuação e terminando com aspetos da terminologia e práticas de edição. Esta última parte integra, ainda, um glossário de alguns termos que consideramos relevantes para a atividade jornalística. Este glossário foi construído a partir do Dicionário Houaiss da Língua Portuguesa (2003) e do Dicionário de Jornalismo (Cascais (2001)).
The present proposal represents the final paper of the Master Course in Science of Language, area of specialization in Consultancy and Linguistic Revision in the project modality. The present study belongs to the book style area, particularly in presenting a proposal of the style of the book for the Angolan Journal. The Journal of Angola is the selected corpus of the present project due to its antiquity and large coverage in the Angolan territory being the unique journal distributed daily in the 18 provinces of Angola. The paper is structured in four chapters. The first one focus the bibliography on the Books of Style and presents the description of three books of style, namely: the book of style of the Portuguese Journal “Público”, the book of style of the Lusa agency and the book of style of the São Paulo State journal. The second one comprises the presentation, description and the functioning mode of the Angolan Journal followed by the code of ethic and deontology of the Angolan journalists as well as the description of the 18 texts extracted from the years of 1992, 2002 and 2018, in the area of politics, society and sports. The third one presents the collected data analise and characterization, dealing with the title, leads and text basing on the concepts of simple sentences, complex sentences, verbs and adverbs. The fourth one brings the technical part of the paper because it presents our proposal of the book of style with some norms of composing news and text organization; journalistic genres; linguistic normalization with emphasis to verbs and sentences structure and punctuation including aspects of terminology and practices of edition. It also presents, at the end, a glossary of technical terms of the journalistic activity.
