pessoal e profissional.
International immigration is one of the most important manifestations of social development on a global scale. When it comes to international immigration, the number of Chinese immigrants is enormous. As a specific economic and political activity, immigration also affects how a family transforms itself and how a child develops throughout his early year. The identity of the second generation of immigrants has always been a widely studied topic in the field of sociology; however, the research and analysis on the specific situation of the second generation of Chinese immigrants in Portugal is clearly not substantial. Through the research, using questionnaires and interview analysis, the present study aims to understand the general situation, the influence factors of the personal identity and the idea of nation of the second generation of Chinese immigrants in Portugal. Finally conclusions are presented through the discussion of the results obtained and proposals for suggestions that seem to us to be effective. The research participants are mainly from the second generation of Chinese immigrants in Portugal, including young people who were born and raised in Portugal and those who grew up in Portugal after being born in China. A comprehensive investigation was carried out on the basic personal situation and subjective identity of participants. In the context of economic globalization, cultural diversity is a developing trend, and different levels of identity are effectively a multicultural manifestation. The outside world cannot force them to recognize themselves with certain identities, and society must respect and understand their differences as well as their social personality, whether as a part of a community, whether Portuguese or Chinese. The identity of the second generation of immigrants is a phenomenon that is affected by many interrelated factors. In fact, understanding the situation and the factors influencing the identity of the second generation of Chinese immigrants living in Portugal, while proposing corresponding solutions, it’s of great importance and can guide all this generation to better integrate into the local society and find a point of contact between eastern and western cultures. Likewise, when Chinese immigrants understand their cultural identity and the idea of a nation, they can consciously choose the lifestyle that suits them, enjoying their advantages, overcoming their disadvantages, and improving the quality of their personal and professional lives.
