O Hospital Real de Todos-Os-Santos é tema de frequente publicação e
investigações em múltiplas vertentes, destacando-se-lhe a relevância histórica, o papel
chave para a evolução das práticas médico-terapêuticas portuguesas da época da
expansão, mas também as estruturas e materiais arqueológicos recuperados em
sucessivas ocasiões, entre 1960 e 2001. No presente estudo abordou-se um conjunto
selecionado de cerâmicas recolhidas num contexto fechado datado da época moderna,
equivalente ao enchimento de um poço ovalado medieval das «Hortas de S. Domingos»,
depois integrado no tardóz do Hospital, escavado na intervenção arqueológica de
2000/2001. Esta dissertação lida com as produções regionais e forâneas.
Hospital Real de Todos-Os-Santos was the subject for various publications and researches in several areas, highlighting its historical relevance, the key role for the evolution of the Portuguese medical-therapeutic practices in the Age of European 6 Expansion, but also the structures and archaeological materials recovered on successive occasions between 1960 and 2001. The present paper approaches a set of selected ceramics recovered from a closed context dating from the 16th c. A.D., equivalent to the filling of a medieval oval well belonging to the vegetable-garden of the Dominican Convent, later reused by the hospital. This excavated in the archaeological intervention of 2000/2001. The study deals with glazed ceramics of regional origin, and their respective evidences of production, and also approached the portuguese productions and foreign productions.
