Na presente dissertação, analisamos a adaptação ao cinema de quatro obras
literárias do colombiano Gabriel García Márquez, fundamentando a nossa opinião
através das teorias sobre esta temática. Sendo a adaptação cinematográfica um tema
que divide as opiniões entre os críticos literários, expomos as dificuldades e os
problemas recorrentes nas adaptações cinematográficas, tendo como base o trabalho
de García Márquez, cujas obras, em geral, são aclamadas pelos críticos literários e pelos
leitores. A possibilidade de uma adaptação fiel ao original é um tema debatido no seio
dos especialistas, gerando controvérsia e discórdia. Apaixonado pelo cinema e
profissionalmente também ligado a esta arte, as adaptações de obras de García
Márquez, contudo, não alcançaram muito sucesso.
In the present dissertation, we propose to analyze the adaptation of four literary works by the Colombian Gabriel García Márquez to the cinema, basing our opinion through the theories on this theme. Since film adaptation is a theme that divides opinions among literary critics, we intend to expose the difficulties and recurrent v problems in cinematographic adaptations, based on the work of García Márquez, whose works are generally acclaimed by literary critics and readers. The possibility of a faithful adaptation to the original is a topic debated within the experts, generating controversy and discord. Passionate about cinema and professionally also linked to this art, the adaptations of works of García Márquez did not reach much success.
