ouvimos no filme.
O corpo que fala is a documentary that presents fragments of stories - life narratives - of four people who attend the Sunday Ball at Casa do Alentejo, in Lisbon. It is the product of an ethnographic research, which consisted of the implementation of practices and mechanisms of film directing, favouring meeting and dialogue between the director and the other, through the device of a filmed interview. It is the result of an individualised approach, looking for a subjective and personal discourse, in which I intend to value the act of storytelling and life narrative, as a way of thinking about human experience - ways of being or speaking. In this report, I describe the working process, the set of actions carried out on the field, the procedures to approach the reality of the ball dance, the people who attend it and the choice of the characters/interlocutors we see and hear in the film. I also analyse the epistemological and methodological implications, as well as questions of ethical nature, that arise from the choices and obligations of the author who makes them and decides to reveal them.
