Similarly to the of the world, Portugal has been going through a population aging process, followed by a decrease in young population. Due to this and since the elders have special needs, it is necessary to ensure that the infrastructures are adequate to them. It is not enough to ensure the existence of Health Clinics, Day Care Facilities or Residential Homes. In fact, it is of extreme importance to guarantee the elder population can move around, in a safe manner, to the places by them frequented on daily basis. Thus, it is intended to evaluate the pedestrian’s conditions targeted to the elders in Ponte de Sor, focusing on Residential Homes and Community Centers. The aim is to create a method of Pedestrian’s Audit through which diverse paths will be evaluated with the purpose of proposing improvements on said paths and, consequently, improve population’s life quality. Without forgetting the “from 8 to 80” concept, the desire is to create multigenerational spaces because where an elder can be so is the entire population.
