Rádio aumentada: proposta de reportagem em realidade aumentada com som binaural

Abstract

Ao longo de 30 anos, a TSF destacou-se no panorama mediático em Portugal. A “rádio que mudou a rádio” constituiu-se como uma emissora inovadora, não só no estilo como nas rotinas jornalísticas. Com o advento da internet e das tecnologias digitais, novos canais de distribuição e outras linguagens agregaram-se à rádio, dotando-a de um conjunto de características e ferramentas. O que apresentamos com este relatório de estágio não é apenas a descrição das características da TSF, mas a proposta de uma linguagem complementar ao jornalismo radiofónico. O objetivo é valorizar e potenciar o a reportagem com recurso à tecnologia de realidade aumentada e ao som espacial. Este protótipo assenta na premissa da mobilidade permitida pelos smartphones, enquanto o ouvinte pode, através de uma aplicação de Realidade Aumentada, apontar para um logótipo específico da TSF e “aumentar”, i.e. ouvir, uma reportagem de cinco minutos, com recurso ao wearable mais comum: os headphones. A diferença é que a reportagem é reproduzida com som 3D, especificamente com som binaural, de maneira a que o elemento privilegiado seja o som e o ouvinte possa usufruir de todas as sensações transmitidas pela paisagem sonora.

Over the last 30 years, TSF has stood out in the media landscape in Portugal. The "radio that changed the radio" constituted itself as an innovative station, not only in style but also in journalistic routines. With the advent of the internet and digital technologies, new distribution channels and other languages have been added to the radio, giving it a set of features and tools. What we present with this internship report is not only the description of the characteristics of TSF, but the proposal of a language complementary to radio journalism. The objective is to improve and enhance the news reporting using augmented reality technology and spatial sound. This innovative prototype is based on the premise of mobility allowed by smartphones, while the listener can, through an Augmented Reality application, point to a specific TSF logo and "increase", i.e. listen, a five-minute report using wearable most common: headphones. The difference is that the report is reproduced with 3D sound, specifically with binaural sound, so that the privileged element is sound and the listener can enjoy all the sensations transmitted by the soundscape
