agendas culturais.
Based on Pierre Bourdieu sociological theory, this internship paper has as its objective to delineate the Discursive and Statistical Patterns which guide the work methodology of the only news agency in Portugal - Agência Lusa - responsible for the first takes on today’s national and international headlines. A sample of, approximately, 447 written news pieces allowed for the making of eight charts which materialize this quantitative and more specific study. If, on the one hand, the branch of cultural journalism is considered heterogeneous, on the other, the informative coverage of Lusa’s culture section is seen as homogeneous, frequently at the mercy of temporal restrictions. The paper in question also examines, critically, the internship experience in this section and contains reports of interviews to “cultural protagonists” with their own cultural agendas.
