Este trabalho resulta de uma investigação focada nas histórias de vida de mulheres comunistas num momento de profundas transformações da sociedade portuguesa. A sua integração e militância no Partido Comunista Português é constitutiva da sua identidade. O contexto dessa militância, durante a ditadura e sujeita aos mecanismos alargados de repressão desenvolvidos pelo Estado Novo, teve como consequência a criação e sofisticação da dimensão clandestina da organização e actividade política. Neste sentido, o ponto de partida para a nossa investigação é a memória da reflexividade política das nossas interlocutoras, antes da entrada no PCP e no momento de entrada no aparelho clandestino comunista. Focámo-nos nas tarefas políticas, ritmos de trabalho e quotidiano de formação política/ideológica durante a clandestinidade, em conjunto com o universo alargado de sociabilidades desenvolvidas dentro desta circunstância relacional. Todavia, a perspectiva de género a partir da qual construímos o nosso percurso pretendia não apenas olhar para a condição da mulher na clandestinidade, instituição já relativamente escrutinada em outros trabalhos, mas, em particular, olhar para essa condição no fim do regime ditatorial e durante o período revolucionário a partir da experiência militante e social destas mulheres. Num contexto político e social em que a luta pela emancipação feminina se intensificou, a memória desta mulheres sobre os processos de transição para a democracia são centrais para compreender as dinâmicas de mudança e de continuidade nas relações de género na sociedade portuguesa. Como suporte metodológico, apoiamo- nos em fontes orais - histórias de vida e consequentes entrevistas - e outras fontes documentais.
This work results from a research it focus on life stories of communist women in a moment of profound transformations in the Portuguese society. Their entrance and political activism in the Portuguese Communist Party integrate their identity. The context of this activism, during the dictatorship and subject to the repression mechanism developed by Estado Novo, had as consequence the creation and sophistication of the clandestine apparatus. In this regard, our starting point is the memory of political reflectiveness of our interlocutors before their entering in PCP as well in the clandestine organization. We focus on the political tasks, work rhythms and everyday life of the political/ideological formation during clandestinity together with the extended sociability universe developed in this circumstantial relation. However the gender perspective which we built our path aimed not only to look to the women’s condition during clandestiniy, institution relatively well studied, but in particular looking to that condition in the end of the dictatorial regime and during the revolutionary process from the political activism and social experience of these women. In a political and social context in which the fight for feminine emancipation intensified, these womens memory of the transition processes to democracy is central to understand the change dynamics and continuity of gender relations in the Portuguese society. As a methodological support, we rely on oral sources - life stories and subsequent interviews – and documentary sources.
