Resumo: The automotive industry is influenced by a change in climate regulations and a reconfiguration of individual mobility solutions. Therefore, automotive stakeholders need to rethink their business model to remain competitive. Battery powered electric vehicles are a viable near-term solution to overcome environmental concerns and promote alternative propulsion technology. The aim of this study is to identify perceptions and concerns of ‘early adopters’, who might be willing to purchase an electric vehicle in the near future. Based on the results a business model is developed to address customer perceptions and promote the adoption of battery-powered electric vehicles.
