O presente trabalho apresenta um estudo sobre as razões que motivam os alunos
a escolher o estudo da língua espanhola no 3º ciclo do sistema educativo português.
Inicialmente é abordada a questão do currículo - definição e pressupostos –,
seguindo-se a forma como este é concebido e o modo como as línguas estão presentes
no mesmo. Aborda-se, igualmente, o modo como a língua espanhola está presente em
Portugal e no sistema de ensino português.
Partindo da análise de um grupo de alunos de uma Escola Secundária da
denominada “Grande Lisboa”, procura-se compreender quais os factores que os alunos
privilegiam na escolha de uma língua para estudo, em detrimento de outras, e até que
ponto esta escolha reflecte os seus interesses profissionais. Procura-se, ainda,
compreender a visão dos alunos e dos professores relativamente ao ensino da língua
espanhola em Portugal.

The present work show a study about the reasons that motivate the students to choose the study of the Spanish language on the third cycle of the Portuguese educational system.
