Esta investigação incidirá sobre novas potenciais formas de representação na esfera pública. Tentaremos com isto corroborar a hipótese de novas formas de representação não-eleitoral como um complemento indispensável às formas tradicionais. Neste sentido iremos explorar os conceitos de esfera pública e poder comunicativo para discutir uma nova visão da representação política. Defenderemos também a ideia de uma esfera pública participativa e aproximar-nos-emos das teses deliberativas da democracia para a renovação das democracias representativas.
This investigation deals with new potential forms of representation in the public sphere. Our main argumente is that new forms of non-electoral representation are na essential complemente to new forms of representation. From this viewpoint, we will use the concepts of public sphere and communicative power in order to discuss a new conceptualization of political representation. We will also support the idea of an active public sphere and the need to adopt deliberative democratic theories in order to revitalize the functioning of representative democracies.
