Private label brands (PLBs) are developing at tremendous speed in today’s global
retail market. This Business Project analyzes country retail and PLB development at
the global scale in order to identify trends and figure out how the level of retail
development of a specific country impacts PLB maturity. The practical objective is to
define a roadmap to develop retail strategies in countries of different maturity. Two
countries, of different maturity levels, were chosen for this analysis. Research reveals
there doesn't exist a one size-fits-all strategy and that careful attention needs to be
paid to contextual differences and consumer perception when developing PLBs
around the world.
