Esta investigação descreve o desenvolvimento de um trabalho de projeto
realizado com base num instituto de línguas na África do Sul. O estudo teve como
objetivo compreender de que modo a implementação de um curso de Português
Língua Estrangeira, em modalidade de b-learning pode ajudar a combater o
absentismo de alguns alunos e a melhorar os níveis de participação e interesse,
possibilitando que transitem para níveis de proficiência linguística mais avançados.
Em termos metodológicos, a investigação assenta numa metodologia mista e as
estratégias utilizadas foram o inquérito por questionário e a análise documental de
instrumentos de avaliação das instituições ligadas à implementação dos cursos.
Face à pesquisa realizada e aos dados recolhidos concluímos que a maioria dos
inquiridos neste estudo estão familiarizados com os novos paradigmas educacionais e
com as novas ferramentas digitais, demonstrando-se disponíveis na escolha futura de
outras modalidades de ensino.
Acreditamos que os resultados obtidos poderão trazer mudanças significativas
no ensino do Português Língua Estrangeira na África do Sul. Deste modo é
fundamental procurar respostas e acompanhar o universo digital dando resposta às
exigências dos públicos que nos procuram para adquirir novas competências
linguísticas.
The following research describes the development of a work project, based on a language institute within a South African context. The study aims to understand the implementation of a Portuguese language course within a b-learning environment and how this learning can improve on the non-attendance of students and how to increase levels of participation and interest. Whereby, allowing students to achieve higher language proficiency levels. In the current investigation, a mixed method approach was applied through the use of questionnaires, language course enquiries and statistical data, which would assess whether a b-learning environment would benefit within a South African learning context. Of the sample, majority of the respondents who filled in the questionnaire and language course enquiries indicated that most were familiar with the new educational paradigms and preference towards these types of virtual environments. The finding of this study demonstrates sufficient validity that teaching in a blearning environment can result in having a significant positive outcome in teaching Portuguese as a foreign language in South Africa. Therefore, it is important to continuously look for answers to improve on various teaching methods and to follow the digital interest.
