O presente estudo, desenvolvido numa escola específica da Região Autónoma dos Açores, visa dar resposta ao objetivo seguinte: identificar os conhecimentos dos professores acerca das suas práticas, em contexto escolar, quando nele estão inseridos alunos com Perturbação de Hiperatividade e Défice de Atenção (PHDA), auxiliando-os com estratégias de intervenção psicossocial. Decorrente da revisão da literatura, verificou-se a necessidade de formação de professores na área referida. Por isso, sugeriu-se uma proposta de programa de formação de professores em PHDA, devidamente estruturada.
Na metodologia utilizaram-se, para recolha de dados, o questionário, a observação, a pesquisa documental e outros instrumentos informais – fichas de elementos fornecidos pelo professor para a caraterização do aluno. Os questionários foram aplicados a 26 professores (81% do sexo feminino e 19% do sexo masculino), tendo-se verificado que a maior dificuldade da classe docente é a gestão da atenção e do comportamento de alunos com PHDA. A observação foi feita a um aluno com a problemática referida, em contexto de sala de aula e de recreio, a qual foi complementada por filmagem e fotografia, em ambos os contextos. Elaborou-se a pesquisa documental de 5 alunos com PHDA e entregaram-se fichas de elementos fornecidos pelo professor para a caraterização do aluno, acerca dos mesmos 5 alunos.
Através dos dados obtidos, parece poder concluir-se a necessidade de formação para professores na área da PHDA.
The present study, developed a specific school of the Azores, tries to achieve the proposed objective that consists of identifying the teachers' knowledge about their practices, in school, with Hyperactivity Disorder and Attention Deficit students (ADHD), helping them with psychosocial intervention strategies. With the review of the literature, comes the need for teacher training in that area. Therefore, it was suggested a proposal for teacher training program in ADHD, properly structured. In the methodology we used questionnaire, observation, document research and another informal instruments, from teachers, about the characterization of students. The questionnaires were given to 26 teachers (81% female and 19% male) and it was found that difficulty of the teaching profession is the management of attention and behavior of students with ADHD. The observation was made to a student with ADHD, in the context of class and playground, which was complemented by filming and photography, in both contexts. It was prepared documentary research of 5 students with ADHD and delivered information about the same students. With the information obtained, it seems to conclude the need for training for teachers in the field of ADHD
