Este relatório pretende evidenciar os obstáculos e condicionantes externos que surgem invariavelmente durante o processo de tradução, bem como as respetivas soluções encontradas durante o estágio. Apresentam-se exemplos práticos que colocam à prova algumas das matérias teóricas dadas em aula durante a parte letiva do Mestrado de Tradução. Os exemplos apresentados são fruto de várias interações com colegas tradutores e clientes (direta ou indiretamente), que decorreram ao longo de 400 horas de estágio na empresa de acolhimento Kennis Translations SA. Pretende-se analisar as prioridades que um profissional da tradução deve ter consoante os projetos com os quais trabalha, os seus fornecedores e o respetivo público-alvo.
This report aims to show the external constraints that will inevitably appear during the process of translation, as well as their possible solutions reached during this internship. Practical examples will be presented with the purpose of testing some of the theoretical aspects learnt in class. The selected examples are the result of interactions with other translators and clients (directly or indirectly), that took place during the 400-hours internship at the host company Kennis Translations SA. The goal is to analyse the priorities a translator must pursue according to the projects he or she receives, as well as their clients and the respective target audience.
