No concelho de Oliveira de Frades proliferam vestígios de um passado
longínquo, manifestações de um património rico e diversificado, que contribuíram
para a humanização da paisagem. Porém, o inventário desse Património está por fazer
de modo sistemático e encontra-se ameaçado por diversos fatores (exploração
silvícola, circulação de viaturas pesadas, terraplanagens, construção de infraestruturas
e desconhecimento da sua existência).
A Carta Arqueológica de Oliveira de Frades é assim um documento
fundamental para o Plano Diretor Municipal, como ferramenta de arqueologia
preventiva no âmbito do ordenamento e planeamento do território.
Além de inventário dos sítios arqueológicos, contém uma análise diacrónica do
povoamento humano no concelho e propostas de ações de salvaguarda, valorização e
divulgação dos mesmos, principalmente ao nível da criação de roteiros temáticos,
publicações para o grande público, e renovação da sala de arqueologia do Museu
Municipal.
In the municipality of Oliveira de Frades, traces of a distant past proliferate, reflecting a rich and diverse heritage that has contributed to the humanization of the landscape. However, a systematic inventory of these remains has yet to be conducted, and they are threatened by various factors, including forestry exploitation, heavy vehicle traffic, earthworks, infrastructure construction, and a lack of awareness of their existence. The Archaeological Map of Oliveira de Frades is therefore a fundamental document for the Municipal Master Plan, serving as a preventive archaeology tool within the framework of land use planning and management. In addition to an inventory of archaeological sites, it includes a diachronic analysis of human settlement in the municipality and proposals for safeguarding, enhancing, and promoting these sites. These proposals mainly focus on the creation of thematic routes, publications for the public, and the renovation of the archaeology room in the Municipal Museum.
