This thesis examines the impact of grassroots football on local communities, focusing on
its role in reducing inequalities and promoting social inclusion. Grassroots football plays a
crucial role in fostering community identity, social cohesion, and equal opportunities,
regardless of socio-economic background. Through a case study of 'Play for Change' in
Italy, this work explores the initiatives undertaken to leverage football as a tool for social
transformation. It highlights key projects, measurable impacts, and challenges faced in
implementing sustainable and inclusive grassroots football programs.
