A presente dissertação, intitulada “Variação Denominativa em Textos
Produzidos no Instituto Nacional de Avaliação, Acreditação e Reconhecimento de
Estudos do Ensino Superior (INAAREES) - Angola ”, tem como objectivo harmonizar
os casos de variação denominativa identificados nos textos produzidos no Instituto
Nacional de Avaliação, Acreditação e Reconhecimento de Estudos do Ensino Superior
(INAAREES). Para alcançarmos o objectivo traçado, identificámos e analisámos os
casos de variação denominativa que ocorrem no corpus de análise constituído por textos
produzidos na referida instituição. Após isso, classificámos os referidos casos de
variação em função do modelo teórico da tipologia da variação denominativa em
Terminologia apresentado por Faulstich (2001: 26-35). De seguida, procedemos à
harmonização dos casos de variação denominativa identificados no corpus de análise,
mediante critérios pré-estabelecidos, para que estes casos de variação não provoquem
incompreensão na comunicação entre os especialistas do INAAREES, entre estes e
especialistas das áreas que com as quais se relacionam, o que facilita também o trabalho
dos tradutores. E, por fim, propusemos a elaboração de uma base de dados
terminológica que serve de repositório do resultado desta harmonização.
The present dissertation entitled ‘Denominative variation in texts produced in the National Institute for Assessment, Accreditation, and Recognition of Higher Education Studies (INAAREES) - Angola’ aims at harmonizing cases of denominative variation identified in the texts produced at the National Institute for Assessment, Accreditation, and Recognition of Higher Education Studies (INAAREES). In order to achieve this target, we have identified and analysed cases of denominative variation that occur in the corpus constituted by texts produced in the aforementioned institution. Subsequently, we have classified the abovementioned cases of variation taking into consideration the theoretical model of the typology of denominative variation in terminology presented by Faulstich (2001: 26-35). After that, we have harmonized those cases of denominative variation identified in the corpus according to pre-defined criteria, so that these cases of variation do not cause misunderstandings in the communication among INAAREES experts, and between these experts and the experts in the fields of knowledge they have to deal with, while also facilitating the work of translators. Lastly, we have suggested the creation of a terminological database that is used as a repository of the results of this harmonization.
