Resumo(s)
Burnout is a critical phenomenon with consequences for individual well-being,
organizational performance, and public health. This thesis aims to give an overview about the
development of job-related burnout, the key drivers and the current state in investment banking
in Germany. A quantitative approach with survey data from 138 professionals analyzed with the
Burnout Assessment Tool (BAT) shows that that there is no significant evidence that remote
work shows a negative impact on burnout. The results show that the most prevalent stressors in
investment banking are high workload, competition within the firm, and conflicts between
individual and organizational values. Additionally it can be seen that preventive measures have
no significant effect, which emphsizes the need for improved support systems.
