Resumo(s)
This thesis analyzes the European Union's Global Gateway strategy and provides
suggestions to support its implementation in Central America. Through a literature
review, it explores challenges and sustainable investment opportunities in the region.
Recommendations emphasize developing a Central America Green Bond Standard,
investing in renewable energy infrastructure, implementing Payments for Ecosystem
Services, fostering the blue economy, enhancing eco-tourism, adopting circular
economy practices and promoting deforestation-free supply chains. By using lessons
learned from successful initiatives and prioritizing high-potential green growth sectors,
the project aims to support inclusive and sustainable development while fostering EU
strategic autonomy and collaboration.
