Resumo(s)
This study examines the impact of China’s relaxed visa policies on business growth, tourism,
and international talent attraction. Using a mixed-methods approach, it combines quantitative
data on FDI and cross-border businesses from 2020-2024 with qualitative interviews. The
findings show significant positive effects: FDI grew, especially in high-tech manufacturing
and professional services, with 46,893 new businesses in 2024; tourism increased by 30%,
with new opportunities in cultural and lesser-known destinations; and visa-free policies
boosted migration intentions among skilled professionals, though social adaptation challenges
remain. The study highlights the importance of addressing integration and infrastructure
issues to fully leverage the benefits of visa liberalization.
The individual research on tourism aims at demonstrating various business opportunities
behind relaxed visa policies. Evidence will be generated from China’s inbound tourism. To
provide theoretical support to the research analysis and findings, authoritative and reliable
resources were reviewed in the Literature Review part. Both quantitative research and
qualitative research methods were used in this paper. After reaching out to 5 target tourists in
Shanghai’s popular tourist attractions, collecting secondary data, sending questionnaires to 3
Chinese travel agencies via email, and analyzing foreign KOL’s and vloggers’ YouTube
channels (via keywords “China Travel”, “visa-free transit China”), the author found that
potential business opportunities can be found in less well-known travel destinations. In
addition to promoting cultural tourism products, the local economy can be improved. SMEs
are also beneficial from the relaxed visa policy to have more business cooperations. However there are still limitations in this research. A more systematic comprehensive research method

should be adopted for future research.
