How we remember things is how we reconstruct memory. The way we tell stories through our bodies, words, songs, or other media, is also a way to reconstruct our memory of these stories. In my work, I want to create a performance remembering a childhood memory of mine that makes my story of today. Since it is related to today I have the concept of time in circles, repeating itself in different shapes. My main focus in the performance is the shift from an individualistic point of view from the story of “home” to a more society- based view “the struggle of women for their rights”. And finally connecting both views in “hope”, meaning that home has changed significance and it can be intertwined with feminism, the struggle itself. Another layer of this artistic work is also the shift from writing with hands to writing with the body, meaning that the language has also changed shape in the story that I am creating. Expresssion can be delievered through text and body movement. Again in the end, my aim is to combine both feelings of hand writing and body writing.
