a conteúdo jornalístico.
Despite the growing increase in subscription fees from news organizations, it has also been registered a certain reluctance from readers to pay for access to journalistic content. The development of a “culture of free”; and the habit/custom of accessing news without paying are two challenges that the news industry faces, nowadays, in the digital landscape. The news industry has been trying to find solutions, adapting their business models, charging for the content they produce online. This exploratory study aims to understand Portuguese people behaviour towards online paid news subscriptions, and to understand their predisposition to subscribe to a news multiplatform, a platform that bundles several brands, available through one single payment. Beyond the survey, in which 203 people participated, two newspapers editors were also interviewed, from Jornal de Notícias and Observador, in order for us to understand what the news producers perspective is about a platform with these characteristics in the Portuguese market.
