As conclusões sublinham a
Although AI (Artificial Intelligence) has the potential to positively transform societies, promoting advances in areas such as health, education, the environment and the economy, for example, it has also created huge doubts and a great deal of reticence about its use without control and legal restrictions. But it is in the field of artistic creativity that AI has become a factor of great polemic and controversy. This dissertation analyses how the use of ‘generative AI’ in the field of visual arts, with the main focus on fine art photography, is producing a truly impactful revolution among artists and creatives, and among the public itself. The extent to which generative AI can replace innovation in art, leaving to machines what previously belonged to humans, along with the art public's perception of works created by generative AI (compared to those created by human artists), is the main theme of this study. Through an inclusive analysis, this dissertation aims to provide a broad overview of how generative AI is reorganizing the ‘world’ of the visual arts and what artistic creation will look like in the future in an increasingly automated world. The conclusions emphasize the need for a balanced approach that leverages the strengths of generative AI while preserving the irreplaceable value of human creativity.
