O objetivo do presente relatório assenta na apresentação da rede social Facebook como ferramenta didática, ao serviço da aprendizagem de uma língua estrangeira e/ou materna, à qual os professores poderão recorrer com vista a fomentar a autonomia, a responsabilidade e a motivação do aluno, bem como promover a aprendizagem cooperativa, a interação, a colaboração e as competências tecnológicas no ensino.
O Facebook é uma das redes sociais mais utilizadas em todo o mundo como espaço de encontro, partilha e discussão de ideias e temas de interesse comum. É um ambiente informal em que qualquer pessoa se sente à vontade para comunicar, partilhar e interagir. O seu poder atrativo e catalisador tem contribuído para que cada vez mais jovens adiram a esta rede social.
As Tecnologias da Informação e da Comunicação fazem parte do quotidiano dos nossos alunos e, cada vez mais, os professores devem procurar acompanhá-los, podendo recorrer ao uso das ferramentas Web 2.0, como as redes sociais, para a criação de um ambiente de aprendizagem produtivo, eficaz e envolvente.
Neste sentido, com este trabalho pretende-se identificar e explorar o potencial educativo desta rede social, através de recursos e atividades que possam contribuir para a inovação, colaboração, interação, partilha, pro-atividade, participação, pensamento crítico e reflexivo do processo de ensino e aprendizagem de uma língua estrangeira e/ou materna.
The aim of this report is to present the social network Facebook as a teaching tool to learn a foreign language or mother tongue. Teachers can use it to encourage students’ autonomy, responsibility and motivation, as well as to promote cooperative learning, interaction, collaboration and technological skills in teaching. Facebook is one of the most used social networks in the world as a meeting, sharing and discussion place. It is an informal environment where anybody can feel free to communicate, share and interact. Its attractive and catalytic power has called more and more young people to use it. Information and Communication Technologies are used every day by our students and, more and more, teachers should try to join them by using Web 2.0 tools, such as social networks, to create involving and effective learning. This written work intends to identify and explore the educational potential of this social network through resources and activities that can contribute to the innovation, collaboration, interaction, share, proactiveness, participation, critical and reflexive thinking of the teaching and learning process of a foreign language or mother tongue.
