Resumo(s)
Usando como base duas histórias de fantasmas do século XIX (“A Casa Assombrada” de
Edward Bulwer-Lytton e “The Haunted Mind” de Nathaniel Hawthorne), o presente trabalho
de projecto teve como objectivo a escrita de argumento de uma média-metragem de ficção
inserida no género do Terror que procura abordar alguns dos problemas psicológicos que
atormentam muitas pessoas na sociedade contemporânea: a crise da habitação, a solidão e o
peso insuportável de um passado mal resolvido. Acompanhando o processo de escrita desde a
génese da ideia inicial até ao fecho da terceira versão do guião, a memória descritiva deste
projecto pretende mostrar quais os métodos adoptados na redacção do argumento, as escolhas
criativas que foram feitas e os tópicos que implicaram alguma reflexão.
Using two 19th century ghost stories as its basis (“The Haunted and the Haunters” by Edward Bulwer-Lytton and “The Haunted Mind” by Nathaniel Hawthorne), this project had as its main objective the writing of a screenplay for a medium-length fiction film in the horror genre that touches on some of the psychological problems that affect many people in the current society: the housing crisis, loneliness and the unbearable pressure of a past filled with unsolved issues. Covering the writing process from the inception of the initial idea to the locking of the script’s third draft, this project’s report will show the methods adopted in the writing of the screenplay, what creative choices were made and which subjects required some further thought.
