alunos do 2º ciclo do ensino básico.
do segundo período.
The present report is part of the Supervised Teaching Practice (STP) within the Master’s Degree in Music Education for the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Universidade Nova de Lisboa. This practice took place in a TEIP school in the Lisbon district during the 2023/2024 academic year. Thus, this report aims to present all the experiences encountered by the trainee teacher. The first part of this report outlines all the experiences lived during the Supervised Teaching Practice (STP), which focused on observing and teaching students in the 2nd cycle of basic education. During this internship, conducted in a TEIP school, it was possible to observe and support students from diverse backgrounds, with a particular focus on 2nd cycle students (5th and 6th grades) as well as the Multidisability Support Unit. Additionally, this first part addresses all aspects related to the school environment, ranging from the classroom to the larger school structure. In the second part, the research project developed throughout the academic year as part of the internship for the Master’s Degree in Music Education for Basic Education is presented. This project was carried out in one of the 5th-grade classes, detailing all stages from its preparation to execution and the feedback from students on the proposed activities. The main objective of this project was to explore the theme of inclusion within the school environment, particularly during a time when many foreign students are enrolling in Portuguese schools. In one of the observed classes, later also taught by the trainee, a new student of Brazilian nationality joined at the beginning of the second term. By creating different soundscapes and consistently introducing a new element, the students gradually understood, through listening, how it would be possible to integrate all the elements into the soundscape. The students were also tasked with creating a comic strip story, set in a predefined location, where they were required to introduce a new student halfway through the story and elaborate on the changes that occurred. The results revealed that music can be a powerful tool for inclusion and an effective way to explain this concept to students.
