The vertical farming and aquaponics market presents a unique opportunity for
sustainable agriculture, driven by increasing demand for environmentally friendly food
production. This thesis explores a case study of a startup leveraging controlled-environment
agriculture to deliver fresh, premium produce while addressing operational, market, regulatory,
and environmental risks. The analysis highlights the startup's innovative business model, which
integrates vertical farming with aquaponics to optimize resource efficiency and reduce
environmental impact. Key challenges, including energy costs, system failures, consumer
