Resumo(s)
Green hydrogen is a critical solution for decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors and meeting global
climate targets. Iberia's abundant renewable energy resources make it a strategic hub for green
hydrogen, advanced by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) through two projects: Catalina
and Madoqua Power2X. This study integrates engineering and management perspectives
examining macro-environmental factors, stakeholder engagement, and CIP’s capabilities. Findings
reveal that despite favorable political interest and abundant renewables, challenges like limited
local offtake agreements, infrastructure gaps, and regulatory uncertainty remain. Future efforts
should prioritize demand-side incentives, enhanced integration of stakeholders, and clarifying
regulations to advance CIP’s expansion in Iberia’s green hydrogen sector.
