Resumo(s)
This study maps the barriers that SMEs offering climate adaptation solutions face when attempting
to reach rural areas, where residents are particularly exposed to the adverse impacts of climate
change. Moreover, it identifies strategies that SMEs have implemented to overcome such obstacles
and gathers recommendations for the public sector to support rural expansion. This analysis
utilizes qualitative data from eight interviews with SMEs founders from various developing
countries who have previously engaged with UNIDO. The findings will inform future baseline
studies for UNIDO’s related projects, laying the groundwork for more effective interventions in
this area.
