Resumo(s)
The majority of Mozambique’s households face serious energy access challenges, and Solar Home
Systems (SHS) and Improved Cookstoves (ICS) are being introduced to mitigate those challenges.
This study analyses the cost-benefit of these technologies and finds considerable positive values
for all studied ICS as well as significant reductions in pollutants emissions, indicating health
environmental benefits of this technology. The cost-benefit analysis of SHS shows negative values.
Information on non-monetary benefits of access to electricity indicates nevertheless highly valued
non-monetary benefits of this technology which future studies will need to monetise to better
understand the investment potential of this technology.
